Duties of the Digital Director

• Lead web content strategy to attain business goals and grow our competitive advantage;
• Develop growth strategy; identify content opportunities, and execute strategy;
• Lead project teams and influence stakeholders to optimize digital content;
• Provide credible leadership and direction for the Digital Content team;
• Delivery of web and other online content to prescribed quality standards, within agreed timeframes and budgets;
• Increasing the presence, reach, effectiveness and quality of the digital content;
• Focus on delivering the best Digital communications strategy;
• Fully contributing to the development of the wider digital strategic plan and its subsequent implementation;
• Manage the content creation and updates across multiple web sites, social communities and mobile environments;
• Create original content for digital publishing;
• Create and maintain digital content standards for a full range of different digital media including publications, PDFs, web content, multimedia content, and social content; serve as gatekeeper to ensure that standards are met prior to content publication;
• Ensure content created is modified to meet various devices (desktop, tablet and mobile);
• Ensure web content is meeting needs and interests of visitors by analyzing digital metrics and reporting findings;
• Develop creative ideas that translate into compelling marketing campaigns;
• Provide content leadership on interactive projects: from initial concepts to wireframes, briefs, content decks, editorial calendars, style guides, and ongoing content curation;
• Collaborate with internal teams to define and develop creative vision and strategy;
• Analyze content opportunities and recommend strategies, interactions or approaches;
The Digital Director is also responsible to:
• Target short term digital profit with La Sentinelle Video/Business Magazine/Turf/Lékip;
• Consolidate all publications of LSL digitally;
• Strategize profitability for lexpress.mu and other digital platforms, including social networks;
• Employ a new coder;
• Learn/work with external digital specialists.
• Any other cognate duties.
